    We first saw Chapter 1 of James Glickenhaus’ P4/5 Competizione back in October. Through their page on Facebook, they’ve now put up a plethora of photos depicting chapters 2 and 3, each depicting a specific stage in the build process. Chapter two focuses on the car’s incredible carbon fiber shell as the team installs the greenhouse, suspension, and braking systems while Chapter three brings in all the sophisticated electronics. This is one serious racer. Hopefully chapter 4 will include more video footage.

    Students from West Philadelphia High School have built a diesel-hybrid race car that goes from 0-60 in four seconds. While the car currently gets 60+ mpg, they hope to soon break 100 mpg.  Why?     SwissSwiss car designers Ueli Anliker have taken the Mercedes McLaren SLR 999 and literally upgraded it to gold status.  Gold was added to the red body finish, the rims as well as the interior, and to top it off, Anliker threw in ruby stones. With over 11 pounds of gold detail and 600 rubies, this McLaren SLR 999 has an estimated value of ($5.2 million). What do you think, too much gold or just enough?
